In a tweet on Twitter, Riot Games executive producer Michael Chow explained to LoL players around the world why they made this decision.

One of the first things that Michael highlighted was the challenge the Riot team faced in releasing a competitive mobile game with large server and infrastructure needs amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

This pandemic has rendered them unable to travel abroad and has created complications in dealing with requirements in each region.

And this makes them unable to provide new locations and services.

“This has become a much more complex and multi-faceted issue for delivering services to your specific area,” said Michael

“Speeding up the release date of this game is not a solution as it could expose the player to a lot of problems and may require resetting the entire game server,” he continued.

Currently Open Beta LoL Wild Rift can be played in Indonesia, but unfortunately other countries outside ASEAN have to wait until 2021 to be able to play this MOBA game.
