List of Compulsory Applications Completed Reinstalling PC
Finding an error on a PC that can’t be fixed other than reinstalling is certainly a very inconvenient thing. Besides you have to wait for a very long operating system installation process, you also need to install the PC applications you need. If you have a lot of money to pay someone else to do it, of course you will be able to avoid all these troublesome things.
We are now officially on the platform Tiktok! Follow our Tiktok account at @gamebrott.com to find various information and our other interesting video content.
But I personally do not recommend you to do that even though it is an option. This is because from my own personal experience, technicians who install applications after reinstalling give too many unnecessary applications that I don’t need at all.
Yes, I prefer to trouble myself to install those additional apps. But because I know what I need, I don’t have to pay a technician to do it.
Through the following list, I have designed which applications you must install after you finish reinstalling your PC. What are the applications?
Browser
The browser is one of the mandatory applications that needs to be installed on your PC. Especially in an era where the internet is very important today.
If you use Windows as your operating system/OS, then you are certainly familiar with how Internet Explorer, which is now called Microsoft Edge, is a browser that has no interesting features at all since its release. Although Microsoft has changed Edge to be more attractive and can be said to compete with other third-party browsers, but its bad image makes most of its users not choose it as the main browser.
There are lots of third-party internet browsers that you can download for free. Starting from Google Chrome, Opera, Mozilla Firefox, Brave, to Tor to access the Deep Web.
Download Manager
Download Manager is the next application for those of you who want to download large files quickly. This is because the download manager application will use your entire internet connection to speed it up. So, don’t be surprised if your connection will be limited if the download manager works.
There are so many download manager applications from well-known ones such as Internet Download Manager or IDM which are paid to download manager applications that are not free IDM without trial or permanent that can compete with IDM.
Anti Virus

Antivirus is the next mandatory application after the download manager. Yes, I know Windows Defender built-in Windows is proven to be very strong, but not all databases can handle all viruses and websites that have the potential to send viruses anonymously. Preventing it using additional antivirus will certainly be a much better preventive measure than you suddenly panicking that your files are lost because of a virus that Windows Defender can’t handle.
Various antivirus variants allow us to choose between McAfee, Norton, Kapersky, to ESET. Antivirus prices are not cheap depending on the developers. Moreover, it is an annual subscription. But there are some affordable antiviruses that at least if you can set aside 100-800 thousand a year your PC will be more secure.
I personally subscribed to ESET until now and am very satisfied with its performance. Moreover, the price is very affordable per year.
Music/Video Player
Although everything can be online with Spotify or YouTube, but the music and video player application is one of the next must-have applications. Especially for those of you who work as video editors or those of you who don’t have a stable internet connection. Listening to it via livestream will be very inconvenient for you.
For video editors, music and video player applications are super must-haves. Because they need the application to play music without copyright suitable for their videos before deciding to include it in the video. The application also cuts video processing time without having to import the music directly into the video editing application.
There are various variants of music and video player applications, starting from the default windows themselves, namely Windows Media Player, Groove Music, Media Player Classic, MediaMonkey, iTunes, Winamp, GOM, VLC, Pot Player, and many more.
System Care
System Care may be an application that is rarely noticed by many people. This application will generally get rid of some unnecessary files and keep your PC safe. Similar to Antivirus but it focuses more on removing files that will be a hassle if you keep it stored. Starting from internet cache to repair your PC security.
System Care is divided into two types: only unimportant file remover and combined unimportant file remover and protect or update your system. The best variants that I know of and currently recommend are only two: CCleaner and Advanced System Care.
Application Screenshots
Okay, I know this may not be very important, but I personally think this application is very important so that your time is not wasted just to take screenshots. Especially for certain pages without the need to edit them.
If you use Windows 10 then you will know that there is a Snip & Sketch application that can be done in its own way. But there are other applications that are very simple, just by pressing the PrintScreen button on your keyboard, then you can directly select which area you want to take a screenshot of.
Some of the apps are Lightshot, SnapDraw, Snagit, Fireshot, and others.
Compress File
In addition to reducing file size, the file compression application will make your files more organized than having to see them scattered in your folders or desktop. With a compress file application, you will be able to save a little more with the size of all your large files.
Generally these applications have the ability to make several files in a compressed format called .rar or .zip. The variety is also different, ranging from paid ones like WinRAR, to free ones like 7Zip. All functions are the same.
Optional
The following applications are optional applications that you can install or not on your PC. Of course according to your individual needs.
Video/Image/Logo Editing
Video and image editing applications are applications that may be mandatory for those of you who work or like to edit videos or images/logos. There are various kinds of video and image editing applications that you can install. From beginners to professionals.
But I personally recommend you to buy and install products from Adobe. Even if your PC is strong. If not, maybe another editing application that I recommend can be an okay option for editing videos, editing images, or creating logos.
Converter
This application may have been needed in the past, but not so much needed in this digital era. A converter application is an application that is able to convert file formats to other formats. For example, mp4 to mp3 or word to pdf.
Video Game Launcher
Well, this one application is a mandatory application for those of you who like to play games. This is because not all PC games are based on just one launcher application. Some apps like Steam (almost all PC games), Origin (EA games), Uplay (Ubisoft games), GOG Galaxy (all launchers combined, still beta not recommended), Bethesda (Bethesda games), Epic Games Store (some PC games) , until Battlenet (Blizzard and Activision games) becomes a launcher application that must be installed on your PC.
Word Processor/Office
This is a must app for writers like me. This is because I will very easily save my writing which will eventually become a portfolio of my future work. The word processor application is also very important for students who are working on their thesis.
But why did I put it in optional? Because in this all-digital era, you can use Google Docs or other online typing applications without the hassle of not saving and losing all your work when the power goes out.
Other Apps
Many other applications that you may need as an option. Of course, it all comes down to your individual needs, because basically there’s no point in installing it if you don’t need it. Some of them are Torrents, livestream applications, or maybe overclocking and monitoring for those of you who work as tech enthusiasts and overclockers.
That’s a list of applications that you must install after reinstalling. All of the applications above are basic needs that you must fulfill after you finish installing the operating system whether Windows, Linux, or maybe Mac.
Of course, with some optional applications for those of you who work or have other hobbies. But I believe the above mandatory applications are more than enough to meet your normal needs on a PC.
Do you agree with the list above? If not, maybe you can add another application via the comments column below.
