OPPO on September 14, 2020 yesterday announced an update to its Operating System, namely ColorOS 11 based on Android 11. OPPO itself said that ColorOS 11 will provide a user experience like stock Android, and offer the latest customization thanks to a concept they call “Make Life Flow”.

For customization, ColorOS 11 provides three new color schemes and a choice of contrast levels inside Dark Mode In addition, you can also change the appearance of the Always On-Display, themes, wallpapers, fonts, icons, and ringtones. OPPO also optimizes the three-finger screenshot gesture, namely by adding a translate feature that works directly with Google, the way it works is that you can directly translate the text contained in the screenshot taken, and all thanks to Google Lens.
Then there is the latest multitasking feature called Flexdrop, besides that we will be able to control Smart Home devices through the “device control” menu without downloading applications which are usually different for each device. On the battery side, there’s a “super power saving” mode which comes in handy when your device is running low on battery but still wants to use it a little longer, working by selecting six apps that will still work while in that mode.
The next feature functions as protector so that our batteries don’t get damaged quickly, the mechanism is that the cellphone will stop charging when the battery reaches 80% at night, and the next day the charging will automatically continue until it’s full. OPPO has overcome lags and stutters resulting from the high frame rate with UI First 2.0, they claim that this feature can maximize RAM usage by 45%, increase responsiveness by 32%, and frame rate by 17%.
ColorOS 11 also raises privacy and security issues with its new feature which they call “Private System”, this system works by partitioning the application into 2 versions to manage data safely, this method works by storing user data in the second version of the application which is protected using a scanner. fingerprint or password separately. ColorOS 11 is available in beta starting on September 14, 2020 yesterday batch-by-batch. The official or stable version will be present in more than 28 existing phone models, starting with the Find X2 series, Reno3 series, and others in the next few weeks.
The following is a list of OPPO devices that have officially received the ColorOS 11 Beta:
With the announcement of ColorOS 11, OPPO is arguably one of the first OEMs to publicly launch Android 11 after Google announced it last week. After this we just have to wait for time for other brands such as Realme, Xiaomi, OnePlus, and others to provide updates through their respective OS.
