Because of its negative connotation and considered a new movement tobully certain individuals, Twitch has rejected various variants of emotes with context “save” inside it. The most recent example is that of Federico “Fedmyster” Gaytan, a friend of Pokimane. This week got a message from Twitch that its emote “FedSimp” was recently removed by Twitch for reasons of “bullying and harassing certain targets.”

Other streamers like Joey Kaotyk and Khaos are also experiencing the same thing. Just like Gaytan, he felt that “save” becomes a joke that is often shared by him and his community without the context of hate speech to certain groups or individuals. But in the end, he couldn’t do anything about Twitch’s decision and let his favorite emote disappear from the channel.

Although aggressive in exterminating”save” from Twitch, some channels still managed to avoid having their emotes removed, and some only discovered their emotes were removed after being mass-reported by viewers. Wraithyn currently still has the emote so far, while J. Cyrus has just reported losing his simp emote due to being reported by a viewer.

Many streamers think Twitch is overreacting to its popularity”save” as slang new. They feel that there are still many emotes that have a more severe context of racism and negative connotations but there is no treatment at all like emotes. save.
