Honey, the newest iteration is Worms WMD don’t give the same popularity as Armageddon. Although they have provided various elements that are more or less the same as the series that had popularized the name Team 17. However, this did not make them give up on continuing to develop the game.
This is evidenced by the fact that there are still new projects in 2020 that they had teased a few months ago. The good news is that they are now officially announcing it.
Team 17 officially announced its newest project Worms Rumble for PC and PlayStation 4. Unlike the series Worms Previously, which focused on turn-based combat, this time the game will feature real-time combat with 32 players in one arena. Interestingly? You can play it with players from other platforms. This is thanks to the crossplay feature that was implemented from the start of its release.
Worms Rumble will present two main modes namely Deathmatch and Battle Royale. Unfortunately, there is no clarity as to what the Battle Royale mode is, whether it still uses the ring system in general, or only one arena like survival mode.
Worms Rumble will also bring customization for the worms. You can attach accessories such as headsets or glasses to make the legless soldiers look cooler.
Unfortunately, Team 17 doesn’t show off a destructible environment or an arena that can be destroyed. Makes fans wonder where are the important features of the series Worms it goes. However, through their comments, they explained that there are parts of the arena that can be destroyed depending on the map.
When asked by fans why they didn’t make the game turn-based as usual. They admitted that they wanted to try new things after more than 25 years of adapting turn-based mechanics. Although not a few fans are disappointed with his decision, his work is worth waiting for when the game is released later.
For those of you who are interested in the premise the game offers, Team 17 has prepared an exclusive beta period for the PC version. You only need to register via the following link and wait for an email reply from them to try the game early on July 15, 2020.
Worms Rumble currently still under development. There is no clarity whatsoever when the game will be released. However, it is confirmed that the game will be coming to PC via Steam and PlayStation 4.
