Released on March 26 for Nintendo Switch, this monster hunting game has managed to reach 4 million copies globally. This figure has become the total between physical and digital sales. Seeing that the game was only released on one platform, the number is certainly quite extraordinary.
In comparison, Monster Hunter World hit 5 million copies in 3 days when the game was released for PS4 and Xbox One simultaneously. Meanwhile the PC version reached 2 million copies in the same period.
The portability of the Nintendo Switch is certainly an irreplaceable selling point. Although visually this game will look inferior, the opportunity to be able to hunt with friends anywhere is a feature that rival consoles do not have.
Monster Hunter Rise will not be entirely Switch exclusive, this game will be released for PC in early 2022, there is no certainty for other consoles, especially next-gen.
