Quoting from page Arstechnica reported that Bethesda has committed plagiarism with the release of the game tabletop RPG themed games the mainstay is The Elder of Scrolls Online. After being found to have committed plagiarism, the related party then withdraws tabletop RPG that last Wednesday.

Then what kind of plagiarism case happened? Bethesda this ? game tabletop themed The Elder of Scrolls Online this is known to have a lot in common with the game tabletop Dungeon & Dragons Adventure published by Wizards of the Coast and written by Paige Leitman and Ben Heisler in 2006 ago.

In this case there are similarities in the two games tabletop released Bethesda as well as version Dungeons & Dragons. The most obvious is the presence of a character with the name “Chandra Stol” in both games, both of whom are also priestess and priest. The character name “Chandra Stol” itself first appears in the scenario The Black Road from Dungeon & Dragons Adventure. Meanwhile in The Elder of Scrolls Online in the story scenario Elsweyr which is a release Bethesda also use the same character name.

Not only that, even the two scenario introduction paragraphs are good at The Black Road (Dungeon & Dragons Adventure) and Elsweyr (The Elder of Scrolls Online) have similarities in sentence structure although some names and verbs have been changed. Here’s the comparison:

Version Dungeons & Dragons Adventure, The Black Road

“There’s nothing like the desert to make people feel small and insignificant. In every direction, huge dunes roll across the landscape, and an even bigger sky looms above. The oasis of Vuerthyl is a motley collection of sun-bleached tents in the vast Anauroch desert.”

Version Elder of Scrolls Online, Elsweyr

“Nothing beats the desert to make people feel small and unimportant. In every direction enormous dunes roll across the landscape, and an even larger empty air skies above it. The oasis on the border between Cyrodiil and Elsweyr is a colorful collection of sun-drenched tents in the vast desert of Elsweyr.”

Bethesda himself has pulled the game tabletop that was what he had shared through the page Facebook. Until now, the related parties have not provided further information regarding this plagiarism case. Elsweyr itself is a new expansion that will be released later for The Elder of Scrolls Online future.
