Deathloop and GhostWire: Tokyo Still Coming as a Timed Exclusive on PlayStation 5

The news about the acquisition of the parent company of Bethesda Softworks developer, ZeniMax Media, is big news that could influence all the policies and agreements that Bethesda has made with Sony, one of which is the agreement to make two of its games, Deathloop and GhostWire: Tokyo, to be available online. Time Exclusive on PlayStation 5.

However, it turns out that there will be no policy changes, because Phil Spencer as Xbox boss in his latest interview with Bloomberg media, stated that he would respect the collaboration between Bethesda and Sony that had occurred until finally agreeing on the exclusivity of the two games temporarily on PS5.

However, Jason Schreier, a Bloomberg reporter, via his Twitter tweet, said that Phil Spencer also said that in the future, Bethesda games would only be available on Xbox and PC.

That means that if the two games will have sequels in the future, the PlayStation 5 will not get it. With the entry of Bethesda Softworks into the ranks of Microsoft’s first-party studios, of course, it will add ammunition for the Xbox Series X/S to compete in the era of the latest generation of consoles.

Moreover, Bethesda itself is arguably one of the studios that has many large and interesting franchises such as The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Wolfenstein, Doom, Dishonored, The Evil Within, and many more. Several games that have been confirmed to be in the development stage, such as The Elder Scrolls VI, and also Starfield, do not rule out the possibility that they will only be released for Xbox and PC.
