This is what happened to a Youtuber named TierTalis. He documented his journey while playing and was hacked by an irresponsible person, how he contacted the developer from miHoyo to retrieve his account, until finally he got 2 new characters in his account because of the hacker.
In the short video above, he explains that his miHoyo account has not been registered with any email, so this makes his account even more insecure and very easy for hackers to take over. Not only that, this is also troublesome for miHoyo because they can’t verify whether you really own the account or not.
He also explained that Genshin Impact actually has poor security, to the point that several Youtubers he knows have also had the same experience. But that doesn’t mean miHoyo won’t immediately leave you, because if you contact miHoyo, they will try to get your account back so you can use your account again.
This is what TierTalis does in obtaining its account. He contacted miHoyo, filled out forms related to the last payment and other information that only the account owner knew. Until finally he waited for news from MiHoyo himself.
After 1 month of waiting, TierTalis finally got his account back, instead of losing his items. He was even surprised because he got 2 new characters in the game, namely Xiao and Mona. It turned out that after being hacked, the hacker sold the account to people who wanted to buy the existing characters. After that the person does Top Up to get the 2 characters.
Unfortunately, he didn’t know that the account he had purchased turned out to be a stolen account, and miHoyo finally returned the account to its original owner, TierTalis. It is not known what happened to the account buyer until now, but considering that miHoyo will not care about people who illegally get Genshin accounts.
