Keanu Reeves also Lives in Cyberpunk 2077

Johnny Silverhand is not one of the “expensive characters” played by Reeves.

When the trailer Cyberpunk 2077 officially announced, CD Projekt Red announced that Keanu Reeves will be playing one of the characters. He plays Johnny Silverhand who is one of the leaders of a rock band.

In a more detailed introduction, CD Projekt Red explains that Johnny Silverhand will live as a hologram character who will help V, the main character Cyberpunk 2077 in carrying out its mission.

Interestingly, if the player listens to the latest single from Run The Jewels entitled “No Save Point” which is one of the official music Cyberpunk 2077, then they will listen to the lyrics that read “Keanu Reeves, cyber arm under my sleeve”. Reference that Reeves will exist in the game world and not be limited in the digital world.

Through the single, many people have asked what the lyrics mean. Moreover, Run The Jewels itself will not be present directly in the game, but as two personas named Yankee and the Brave.

Responding to this curiosity, CD Projekt Red’s Senier Quest Designer, Patrick K. Mills explained that the lyrics would be “lore-friendly”. He references Keanu Reeves in the world Cyberpunk 2077 where he became one of the lesser-known actors who closely resembled Johnny Silverhand in stature.

Mills continues that since the disappearance of Johnny Silverhand, Keanu Reeves has often been referred to as the rock band’s leader because of his striking resemblance.

In other words, Keanu Reeves will also play himself in Cyberpunk 2077 and not just the usual Johnny Silverhand. He became an actor who in his story had a career in the 90s. Unfortunately, the destruction occurred in 1996 which led to the founding of the world’s mega-corporations. Johnny Silverhand himself disappeared in 2020 along with the Arasaka office attack incident.
