New Tekken 7 Character, Lidia Sobieska Has Moves From Real Karate Masters

The following Karate masters donate their moves to Lidia Sobieska.

The thing that is very commonly done in the development of modern video games today is how developers apply the software motion capture as animation technology. Motion capture simply is an animation technique where a camera that has been set will capture any movement made by the actor.

In addition to speeding up development, multiple applications of these techniques also guarantee the authenticity of some animation movements. For example, fighting games that adapt certain martial arts such as Tekken 7.

We all know that Tekken 7 each has a character with a variety of self-defense techniques. Starting from Taekwondo, Kenjutsu, to of course Karate. Hence the technique motion capture will be very helpful in its development.

So far, Karate practitioners, represented by Paul Phoenix. But a few days ago, Bandai Namco decided to released a new character with the same martial arts skills as Paul, Lidia Sobieska with the background of the Prime Minister of Poland.

Unlike Paul, Lidia has fast movements, and counter deadly. These movements were apparently contributed by the original Japanese Karate Master named Tatsuya Naka. His appearance was shown via video from Kuro-Obi’s YouTube channel, where he is currently doing motion capture for Lydia.

Naka is an instructor of the Japan Karate Association born in 1964. He has a rank of 7th Dan and is a Master in Shotokan Karate. He has won various high-class competitions and starred in several famous films such as Black Belt, High Kick Girl!, and Karate Girl.

Of course Naka isn’t the only person to contribute his moves in video games. Several other masters such as the grandmaster swordsman Kuwami Masakumo also had time contributed his moves with Sucker Punch while developing the game Ghost of Tsushima.
