Purchased for IDR 84 Billion, IP Ghostrunner Now Owns 505 Games

It was doubtful, Ghostrunner was surprisingly extraordinary and considered one of the most underrated games in 2020. This action game with ninja and cyberpunk elements exceeded initial expectations and sold more than 500 thousand copies. Following this unexpected success, 505 Games as the publisher finally decided to buy the Ghostrunner IP.

No half-hearted, 505 Games poured money up to US $ 5.8 million or around Rp. 84 billion to acquire Ghostrunner. Prior to 505 Games, All In Games was the publisher and main owner of IP Ghostrunner. However, after the acquisition, the Polish publisher will only receive a share of the profits without being able to interfere in the development process such as 505 Games.

All In Games CEO – Piotr Zygadlo said that 505 Games originally planned to buy the Ghostrunner IP before the game launched. However, at that time, the proposed offer was far from being appropriate. It wasn’t until after Ghostrunner’s huge success that 505 Games made a new $5.8 million offer that Zygadlo called, “hard to turn down”. He also explained that the money could speed up the game development process that All In Games is working on.

505 Games already have plans for Ghostrunner this year. Some of these include the three main DLCs – one of which is reported to have twice the gameplay duration of the base game, and a next-gen console version slated for release later this year.

Ghostrunner is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch as well as PC, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions still in development.
