Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Will Have Frame Rate and Resolution Mode Options

Through Gamescom’s Opening Night Live 2020 event which was held live stream yesterday, Insomniac again presented a gameplay demo of one of its games, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Through the gameplay demo video, they showed additional scenes from the stage that had previously been shown at the PlayStation Future of Gaming event last June.

We are now officially on the platform Tiktok! Follow our Tiktok account at @gamebrott.com to find various information and our other interesting video content.

However, with the release of the video, gamers began to worry that this game would only be able to run at a frame rate of 30fps even though it was run by the PlayStation 5 which incidentally has qualified hardware specifications.

This concern was finally answered by Marcus Smith as creative director and Mike Daily as the lead designer of this game through his latest interview with Famitsu magazine. When asked about the performance and resolution that will be presented in the game Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, they answered that there will be two modes that gamers can choose from later, namely 30fps at 4K resolution and 60fps at lower resolution.

This news is certainly good news for gamers, because that way we can choose to prioritize resolution or performance later, although it is quite unfortunate that this game cannot be enjoyed with 4K 60fps resolution.

However, this is also understandable considering that if we look at Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, it does have a stunning visual appearance and asset density that makes it heavy enough to run even with hardware with decent specifications.

Unfortunately, the developer again did not provide any information regarding the release date of this game. What is certain is that Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be released exclusively for PlayStation 5.
