[REVIEW] Moving Out - Super Chaotic Freight Forwarding!

In the realm of local coop-based games, the name Team 17 can’t be doubted. Through their two Overcooked series, they have succeeded in producing super creative and innovative coop games. With a simple concept, they can provide works that look very unique. Trying to get out of their flagship franchise, this time they are back doing interesting experiments through their newest game – Moving Out.

We are now officially on the platform Tiktok! Follow our Tiktok account at @gamebrott.com to find various information and our other interesting video content.

As the title suggests, Moving Out is a “moving simulation” game. Still having characteristics like Overcooked, Moving Out also puts forward the coop system. So what new things are being offered by Team 17 and its two developers – SMG Studio, Devm Games through their newest project this time? This review will discuss it in more detail.

Gameplay

Like the Overcooked series, Moving Out offers the concept of having fun, where this game is more suitable to be played just for fun. Of course, there is no basis for the story or serious things in it, everything feels more attached to the comedy element.

Unique & Creative

Here you will act as a house moving courier service, where you have to transport the house items that will be moved. From the explanation above it may sound simple, but it’s not. You will be faced with various interesting challenges and require cooperation if you play it in coop.

Welcome to the super chaotic freight transport service simulation.

Each transfer stage has a certain time limit to complete. So it will require you to act as quickly and efficiently as possible in transporting goods. If you exceed the time limit specified, then you will not get a good rank in the result.

The goods you move must also remain in a safe condition, some types of goods are also classified as fragile or can be damaged easily. It’s more efficient to move things quickly by throwing them. But if it’s fragile, then you have to handle it with care.

In addition to fake items, some conditions also require you not to damage other household items such as slamming the TV, damaging glass, fences, and so on.

In addition, when moving your goods, you must also be careful with the truck space provided. Requires good coordination and management so that all goods can enter. If it is not regulated then there will be many items that cannot fit into the truck.

In order not to feel bored, Moving Out provides a variety of interesting houses and locations in each stage. The various challenges and conditions faced were varied and not monotonous. Like moving things from a haunted house for example, where the ghosts will interfere and can catch you.

Each stage has a variety of challenges, one of which is like this haunted office.

Not only houses, some stages also present more attractive locations such as farms for example. Where you have to move farm animals that are difficult to control. Each stage really requires a strategy to be completed optimally.

Moving buffalo?

To further provide a variety of gameplay, Moving Out also provides an arcade mode. Where you have to move goods through various obstacles that are difficult to pass. This mode is really suitable for those of you who don’t just want to have fun, but also accept more “extreme” challenges.

Arcade mode will provide more challenging stages.

Quite Entertaining Character Customization

Customizable character is a feature that was not previously available in the previous two Overcooked games. You could say that the feature is actually very simple, but it feels effective to entertain and feels more and more giving color to the game that puts this fun forward.

Along with the progress on each stage, you will also unlock various new things, such as items and characters. Through the customization system, you can change your character and use various items and cosmetics that you have unlocked. Designing characters to look cool or vice versa is one of the attractions that is quite entertaining.

More Crowded More Fun!

This game does feel more interesting if played by more than one person. Through coop, the player’s ability will be lowered to further encourage cohesiveness. Such as mattresses, cupboards, and various other heavy objects will not be able to be lifted by one person alone. Requires a minimum of two people to transport large items.

Playing with friends is the best option.

But the advantage with this collaboration is that you can throw large items at the same time with friends. But of course this also requires cohesiveness to do so. Requires proper synchronization and timing to be able to throw things together with friends.

In addition, this game seems very difficult to complete alone if you are aiming for the best results regarding the timing. Even two people still find it difficult, it feels like it takes many players at once to get the best results. The more players who join, it will feel more exciting and easier.

Playing together will make the character “weak”, but it’s even more exciting because it will test cohesiveness.

But unfortunately, this game only carries a local coop system, where we can’t play with other players randomly. This is of course a dilemma for players who have few coop partners or even no friends to play coop (sad noise).

Unfortunately there is no option to play with many other players online.

Apart from the absence of online coop, what we really regret is the absence of objective indicators from the start. The three objective indicators will only be shown after you complete the mission. It seems encouraging to play a stage more than once just to complete an objective that has not been shown before. As if encouraging unwanted replayability schemes.

Bonus objectives will not be displayed before clearing the stage, as if forcing the sometimes unwanted replayability in order to complete all objectives perfectly.

Colorful Cartoonist Visuals

Just like Overcooked, Moving Out also carries a cartoonist visual style. Its unique and witty concept is further strengthened by such a visual presentation. It doesn’t look beautiful and amazing indeed, but this visual looks very appropriate and makes it feel “sweet”

A simple visual style like a cartoon makes Moving Out acceptable to all circles. This also makes Moving Out look more refreshing and creates an atmosphere that this game is a means to laugh and have fun as if you were watching a cartoon.

Conclusion

Through their latest experiment, Team17 managed to create a game that feels unique and refreshing through Moving Out. With various interesting things in it, Moving Out managed to give the sensation of Overcooked in a newer and no less interesting format.

With a similar foundation to Overcooked, Moving Out has succeeded in being born as a coop game that is no less exciting.

Indeed, there are still some shortcomings in it, but that still doesn’t prevent Moving Out as a game that you should try. Especially when with friends or family, Moving Out will provide a fun and laughable coop game experience.
