Tencent to Officially Acquire Full Ubisoft from Vivendi Next Year
Tencent is certainly one of the busiest giant companies this year. Ubisoft itself has been rumored to be working with Tencent to close the gap in Vivendi’s acquisition since last March. The value of shares owned by Vivendi in Ubisoft is now 6.7% which is worth around 500 million Euros or 8.7 billion Rupiah. In the press release, the share transfer process is divided into two stages, namely 0.91% on October 1, and the remaining 5.74% is planned to be carried out on March 7, 2019.
Ubisoft itself has been at war with Vivendi since 2016. And the presence of Tencent is considered a savior for Ubisoft and even the original owner of Ubisoft, d Yves Guillemot and his family from the acquisition of entertainment giant Vivendi. With the transfer of shares to Tencent Guillemot regained the highest rights from Ubisoft after it was previously owned by Vivendi.
