Unreal Engine 5 Demo on PS5 Actually Only Runs at 30 fps

Yesterday we discussed the next-gen tech demo which discussed the demo of the latest Game Engine, Unreal Engine 5 which was run on the PS5 platform, and from yesterday’s demo it was also revealed that the truth was that yesterday’s demo was only run at 30fps, right? 60fps. Epic games just wants us to know what kind of gameplay will be brought to the next-gen console later and to show that on the next-gen console this newest engine will have maximum potential.

We are now officially on the platform Tiktok! Follow our Tiktok account at @gamebrott.com to find various information and our other interesting video content.

Reporting from Digital Foundry, Epic Games confirmed that, yes, yesterday’s Unreal Engine 5 demo content ran at a framerate of 30 fps and Nick Penwarden a vice president of engineering said that he used technology features Dynamic Resolution. With Dynamic Resolution when the GPU load gets higher, the game can “lower the screen resolution a bit and will let us adapt to the changes”. Warden also said that although it has features Dynamic Resolution but the PS5 gameplay that we see “will be rendered more often to 1440p resolution as the standard”

From this notification it might be seen that we can still get 30fps in the next-gen console class and some players of course have their own reactions when they hear this, some may still feel reasonable because even though we can only get a framerate of 30 but instead we will get a high resolution but there are also those who are disappointed because even on paper the hardware is more powerful like the Xbox Series X only means it is likely to still have games that only display at 30 fps even though the console is actually capable of running up to 120fps though.

Maybe because in yesterday’s highlight we just took an example Dirt 5 which can reach its maximum performance and suddenly a statement appears that not all games will run at 60 fps for example like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla which does not guarantee that the game will run at 60 fps on next-gen consoles. Previously we also knew that these two next-gen consoles can run at a very high resolution, namely 8K and this also means that on the next-gen console we will be treated to extraordinary details but in terms of framerate the clarity is still questionable.
