EA Plans to Improve Apex Legends Live Service Since Reaching 70 Million Players

EA, maybe the thing that comes to your mind about this word is a money-hungry video game publisher. Electronic Arts’ latest financial report for the second quarter of fiscal 2020 today shows it all. Apex Legends itself now has 70 million players since the last time it managed to reach 50 million players in March. Therefore, COO and CFO Blake Jorgensen from EA will try to improve the live service game by combining it with their core franchise.
Jorgensen is optimistic about the strength of their live service. He admits that The Sims 4 and FIFA Online have live service performance above their estimates. EA plans to improve it in games that have been played for quite a while by some players. “Our focus this time will continue to increase the company’s profits this year and in the future,” he added.
Improving live service certainly seems to give a sign that games that are currently struggling with such a business concept are experiencing difficulties.
