JETEX G5 Series Review: Cheap Gaming Headset with Fiber Earpads

Jete via Jete X has a JETEX G5 Series headset that has a fairly immersive sound for playing games.

This is the first time the author has reviewed a product from Jete X. A little information for those who don’t know, Jete X is a brand from Jete which seems to be devoted to the realm of gaming. Meanwhile, Jete as its main brand line has very diverse products ranging from types and prices.

This review of the Jetex G5 Series, as usual, the author will try to play the Apex Legends game. But because this headset can also be multiplatform, the author will also try to play mobile games using this headset.

Check out the Jetex G5 Series review below.

JETEX G5 Series Unboxing

Jetex G5 Series Box Home Gamedaim Review

A typical low-entry product usually has a box that is not so thick. Likewise for the JETEX G5 Series box, which is not so thick and tends to be thin. But the box is quite hard even though it’s thin for the corners. So when you want to stack this box with other boxes it doesn’t seem like a problem.

The front of the box has a picture of the JETEX G5 Series headset itself. What I’m wondering about is that there are “Pro Gamer Choice” and “No Audio Delay” labels on the front of the box.

The author is a bit confused as to why Jete put the label, especially “No Audio Delay” considering the JETEX G5 Series is a wired headset, not a wireless headset.

And the label “Pro Gamer Choice”, it seems that the author can’t believe that this gaming headset is the choice of pro gamers because if I look at the main page of the Jete site, there are more Gadget Reviewers, Celebrities, and even Football Athletes who provide testimonials. There is nothing in the realm of esports like esports players/pro gamers themselves.

Then proceed to the back, this section further explains the technical specifications of the headset.

Then the contents of the box include: JETEX G5 Series, 1 female to 2 male splitter, and a warranty card. Very simple content.

Over-stressing Doff Black Headset

Jetex G5 Series Stand Gamedaim Review

JETEX G5 Series carries a full black matte color which seems light in weight so it doesn’t press the crown of the head.

Build quality headset made of plastic that is not thick and ordinary.

The headset cable has been braided with a length that is not like the general headset which is 1.8 meters, but this headset cable is 2.2 meters long.

What makes the cable long is actually at the end of the cable there are 2 connectivity models, namely USB and 3.5mm jack. There is also a splitter for use on a desktop/laptop PC.

This type of cable actually makes it efficient because it is integrated. But when you only want to use it on a smartphone, the cable seems uncomfortable and annoying. It’s different from when it’s used for a desktop PC because all ports are plugged into a PC.

With a length of 2.2 meters, the headset cable also has a small controller. There are only 2 buttons on the controller, namely the microphone button, a toggle button, and the volume button, with a scroll button.

The headset earpads are made of fiber which is not too thick but not too thin either. This part of the earpad has space to remove the earpad which as a result, the earpad is too easy to remove. Of course, this can be a plus and a minus.

Plus, we can easily replace the earpads. But the minus is that you shouldn’t move the earpads a lot because they can be easily removed. Unlike gaming headsets in general, which remove the earpad, sometimes you have to pull the edges of the earpad with great effort.

Headband Too Pressure

Flatlay Headband

Also, this headset puts too much pressure on the ear because the shape of the headband is too stiff. The author, who tried to loosen the headset by pulling the adjuster, turned out that the stuck pull adjuster was still pressing the ear.

The headband is indeed made of plastic and only carries a single headband, maybe that’s what makes it stiff.

But when used, fortunately the headband pads are thick enough so they don’t make the crown of the head hurt.

Continue to the earcup housing.

Jetex G5 Series Housing Gamedaim Review
RGB LEDs

There is an X logo on the earcup housing of the headset. This logo can also be lit with RGB LEDs. Unfortunately, we can’t tinker with the RGB color or mode. So it’s been from “there” or the manufacturer like that.

Non-Elastic Microphone

Front Microphone

It is rare for writers to review a headset that has a non-elastic microphone like this JETEX G5 Series.

Jetex G5 Series Microphone Gamedaim Review

The non-elastic microphone is about 13 cm long. It’s quite long. Moreover, because it is not an elastic microphone, the distance between the mouth and the microphone is quite bulky. This has an impact on the sound recording results which seem small even though the author has set the gain to 100%.

By taking the omnidirectional pickup, the sound recorded by the microphone seems standard. But when the writer is having Discord, there’s no problem.

You can listen to the recording below.

Low Bass Sound

Apex

Continue to the most important part of a headset, namely sound.

The sound of the JETEX G5 Series that I have heard is that the bass seems low and leans more towards the treble. Even when listening to bassy Pop music, the bass is not as loud as other headsets with bass profiles. Even though the sound itself is quite vibrating in the housing.

When listening to rock music, the headset driver can produce sound with a decent sound stage. The position of the instrumental sound of the executed music is quite clear, whether it’s right or left.

Then about gaming, the author tries to play Apex Legends using this headset.

Because it lacks bass, the author can easily detect the step sound. In terms of sound intensity, for 100% gain, it’s not too overpowering, so if you want to hear in detail the sound of enemy steps or shots, don’t be bothered by excessive sound intensity.

Review Conclusion JETEX G5 Series

flatlay

The conclusion of this JETEX G5 Series review is that this headset is not suitable for those of you who like bass sounds. However, this headset is suitable for those of you who like treble sounds who also need a gaming headset for 2 devices at once/multiplatform whether it’s a desktop PC or smartphone. Given the headset connectivity cable is indeed suitable for smartphones or desktop PCs.

For gaming use too, the sound mapping execution can clearly be heard while playing Apex Legends. So there’s really no problem for gaming.

It’s just that for the microphone, because it is not elastic, the distance from the mouth to the microphone seems to have a fairly far bulkhead. As a result, sound recording is not too loud in decibels or intensity.

For those who are interested, you can buy JETEX G5 Series for Rp. 258,800 for a discounted price when this review airs. Here’s the purchase link: Tokopedia
