Lenovo Yoga Duet 7i Review: A Lightweight Laptop For Content Creators
The Lenovo Yoga Duet 7i was made by Lenovo for content creators who need a portable laptop. The author is the first time to review a laptop like this that is not specifically designed for gaming.
Although it is not specifically for gaming, this laptop is also still suitable for gamers. We can see today that many gamers are also entering into content creators. And it could be the device that the content creator uses when playing games with video editing, for example, it’s different.
This Lenovo Yoga Duiet 7i laptop could be one of the answers for such needs.
Gamedaim had the opportunity to review and try out the Lenovo Yoga Duet 7i. Check out the Lenovo Yoga Duet 7i review below.
Portable, Thin and Solid
Because it was created for content creators but also prioritizes devices that are easy to move, the Lenovo Yoga Duet 7i only weighs 1.19kg with the keyboard.
By design, this laptop is minimalist with a gray color that seems small but premium because of its high-end build quality.
The specifications that I received are: Intel Core i7-10510U (1.8 Ghz, Up to 4.9 Ghz), Intel UHD Graphics, 16GB DDR4-2666MHz, and 512GB NVMe SSD for storage.
Clear Screen
The Lenovo Yoga Duet 7i screen has a 13” touchscreen with thin bezels. The panel itself has a 2K resolution IPS with a 100% sRGB color gamut. The brightness itself is at 300 nits.
In addition to having a touchscreen, we can rotate the screen up to 360 degrees which makes it very customizable.
Lenovo provides a pencil for its touchscreen called the E-Color Pen which has a shape that really looks like a pencil. It’s just that the author really regrets is that this E-Color Pen cannot be attached to the side of the laptop screen. As a result we have to carry the pencil separately.
Color Pen has 3 buttons whose function buttons can be adjusted according to the needs of each user. You can change the button settings via the Lenovo Pen Settings software on the laptop.
When the author tries to draw an elementary school-style mountain landscape through this laptop, it feels like he is drawing on real paper. This is thanks to the E-Color Pen which has a solid feel and is not thin or fat, so it makes the writer feel like holding a real pencil.
From here, for content creation (such as drawing) to watching movies, the laptop screen assisted with the E-Color Pen is very supportive to do both activities.
The author has tried himself to watch high-resolution videos on a laptop and indeed the screen can produce colors well.
At the top of the screen is the front camera. According to the author, for purposes such as online meetings, it can be fulfilled because the camera video/image is quite natural.
You can see the video results from the front camera recording below.
Detachable Bluetooth Keyboard
Then the Lenovo Yoga Duet 7i keyboard as a whole has a solid build quality that already carries Bluetooth 5.0. Unlike the top, which has an aluminum surface, the keyboard base is covered in a denim-style cloth with a gray theme.
The keyboard keys total 80 keys. The feel of typing the buttons is similar to the Lenovo Legion 7i / Slim 7i series that the author has reviewed before.
I can feel the snappy input when typing, although unfortunately the up and down arrow keys on the keyboard are cut off. But the buttons have a surface that feels premium and smooth.
The white backlit keyboard only has 2 levels by pressing the Fn + Spacebar key. Quite useful for typing in the dark.
The laptop’s touchpad is right under the rather large space button.
Then with Bluetooth technology, we can easily remove the keyboard and put it back together quickly because the magnet connecting it is strong. But unfortunately, the hinge of the keyboard is also made of cloth so it can’t stand upright.
The solution to standing upright is in a stand that we can open on the back of the screen. The stand can be tilted up to 135 degrees, which makes the stand hinge quite heavy when I move it. The size of this stand also occupies 40% of the size of the back of the screen.
The back of the screen has the Yoga logo on the top left and the rear camera is located right in the middle.
You can see the photos and video recordings of the rear camera below.
Laptop Ports
The laptop port is located in 2 parts, namely the right and left of the screen.
On the right there is a port for USB 3.2 Type-C. In addition to ports, buttons for power and volume are found in this section.
Continue to the left. 2x USB 3.2 Type-C Thunderbolt ports, SD Card Reader, and Audio Jack are included in this section. The port for power itself is located at the very bottom. Seeing the SD Card Reader proves that this laptop is made specifically for content creators.
In addition to the port, the audio speaker powered by Dolby Audio is located on the top side of the screen. The sound that this laptop speaker produces is minimal in bass but still bright. The sound is clear for listening to music or watching movies.
Battery
Since we mentioned the port for power earlier, let’s talk about the laptop’s battery.
The laptop battery uses 4CELL 42WH which lasts up to 10 hours or less when entering battery safer mode.
Regarding the charger, this laptop charger adapter is as small as a laptop that uses USB Type-C.
Creating Content Through a Thin Laptop
With the specifications that the author has previously mentioned, then the author tries this laptop for benchmarking and 3D content creation.
Results for Cinebench R20:
- 1004 (Multi-Core)
- 375 (Single Core)
And for Cinebench R15:
- 441 (Multi-Core)
- 147 (Single Core)
Furthermore, for rendering the BMW scene with Blender 3D, it takes 15 minutes and 39 seconds.
From these results, this laptop is capable of carrying out your content creation activities or work. The temperature during testing was also stable in the range of 55 degrees Celsius based on HWMonitor data. But when I touch the screen, it’s almost not hot at all unless there’s a warm feeling at the top of the screen.

Lenovo Yoga Duet 7i Review Conclusion
The conclusion of this Lenovo Yoga Duet 7i review is, this laptop can be your second laptop, content creators who really need a thin, light, and portable laptop for video editing work, for example.
Its light weight, solid build quality, good touchscreen display with high color gamut and powerful performance, all of that is found on the Lenovo Yoga Duet 7i. Ports that also support such as the SD Card and 3x Type-C also show Lenovo’s sensitivity to current devices.
It’s just a drawback, although the E-Color Pen laptop is fairly easy for writers to use, unfortunately we can’t stick the pen to the laptop screen. This is what the E-Color Pen lacks.
For those who are interested, the Lenovo Yoga Duet 7i for the specifications that I received has a price of Rp. 18,999,000.
And as usual, there are Premium Care and Accidental Damage Protection when you buy this laptop.
Pros
2K touchscreen display with good color gamut
Light weight and portable
Build quality premium
Long battery life
Small and lightweight charger adapter
Powerful performance for content creation
Cons

The E-Color Pen cannot be attached to the laptop body
