PlayStation 5 Will Be Able to Play PS1 to PS3 Games Through the Cloud?
The PlayStation 5: The Future of Gaming event has officially been held by Sony recently. Where for the first time they showed the form of the next-gen console, namely the PlayStation 5. Previously they themselves had shown various initial details such as specifications to other interesting things.
Not only that, Sony also confirmed that the PS5 will officially be released this year, although there is no definite schedule yet. However, it will most likely be launched later this year. The form of the PlayStation 5 exhibited by Sony itself has successfully attracted the attention of gamers around the world, which has an elegant and futuristic design.
PS5 can play games on previous consoles!
In addition, PS5 is also equipped with very interesting features, one of which is Backward Compability. This feature itself allows the PlayStation 5 to be able to play games from previous generation consoles. Of course, this feature allows you to play games on consoles before PS5 such as PlayStation 4 and others.
There are still many very promising features of the PS5, one of which is how this next-gen console can take advantage of cloud gaming technology. As we already know, cloud gaming is a technology where you can play games without the need to use the hardware needed to play them.
Basically, this technology has been implemented for a long time, but has returned to the surface thanks to the emergence of Google Stadia. Although cloud gaming has been used by PlayStation 4 to play several games from previous consoles, this technology will also be implemented on PlayStation 5.
There is no confirmation from Sony yet!
This is known through the latest copyright. According to a registered copyright patent, it shows how PS1, PS2, and PS3 consoles can be accessed via cloud gaming. Meanwhile, the new image they call “internet game, new client” as tweeted by a Twitter account called Renka Schedule gives the PS4 console potential.
Renka also summarizes it with two important points, namely that PS1 to PS3 games will be accessible via cloud gaming. That the three consoles can be emulated through a virtual machine designed to mimic how the PlayStation hardware works.
In other words, cloud gaming will create its own emulator for the first generation of PlayStation to PlayStation 3 so that it can be played on new consoles. However, again, there has been no direct confirmation from Sony itself regarding this. What do you think about this? Give your feedback below.
