According to a report from IGN, HBO did not explain why the Mortal Kombat film was delayed. Previously, the film was planned for release in HBOS Max and theaters. WarnerMedia also briefly stated that they will release the entire film in two formats.

During the press some time ago, the director Simon McQuoid said that the Mortal Kombat adaptation would be very promising. Each scene in it will reflect the nature of each character. The fight scenes and introductions will be very, very interesting.

Furthermore, the delay of the Mortal Kombat movie is most likely due to several issues. Unfortunately, there is no exact information about the reason why the studio chose this option.
