Indecent tweet, this Fortnite team is disqualified
According to a report from Dexerto, one of the team members named Wrigley wrote a tweet “Please just die” to Epic Games Chief Creative Officer, Donald Mustard. Although the tweet was deleted by Wrigley, the evidence and screenshots of Wrigley’s writings have spread across the internet.
After investigating, Epic Games chose to exclude the team from the tournament. Furthermore, this tweet from Wrigley actually violates the rules that Epic Games has set. Wrigley wrote things that smelled of threats and insults that would clearly offend the organizers.
Meanwhile, other team members such as Dictate and Userz also responded to the incident that hit their teammates. Dictate deeply regrets the decision that Epic Games has taken. According to him, Epic Games only needs to get Wrigley out and not punish his team either.
We hope to be given the opportunity to bring in a substitute. However, Wrigley’s actions are out of control and we have spent a lot of time trying to get into this tournament.
Wrigley Account Has Been Deleted
After his tweet spread across the internet, Wrigley’s Twitter account was deleted. Furthermore, Wrigley’s teammates have received an email informing them that their Fortnite team has been disqualified from the tournament due to Wrigley’s actions.
According to information, the team violated the rules of Article 8.1.1 of the official rules. This particular rule requires players to respect players, Event Administrators, spectators and sponsors.
Actions from Wrigley is clearly very detrimental to their own team. In fact, the team also lost any money they could have earned. Of course, this is a lesson for other players not to be arbitrary in writing tweets that can end fatally.
