Xbox Records $3.5 Billion in Revenue in Q1 2021
Despite being less popular than PlayStation, Xbox was actually able to generate quite a lot of revenue in Q1 2021. It was noted that Xbox posted revenue of $3.5 billion or around Rp.49 trillion.
You need to note, this is their income in the first quarter of 2021. Then, what makes Xbox able to make that much money.
Xbox earnings in Q1 2021
There are a number of factors that make Microsoft able to help Xbox earn quite a lot of income, one of which is thanks to the Xbox Series X. This Microsoft-owned console is a contributor to Xbox’s revenue in the first quarter of this year. In fact, several records were successfully broken when the console was released.
According to Daniel Ahmad, this is the most impressive achievement for Microsoft since the last time it recorded the same revenue six years ago. In the report, most of the revenue comes from or is related to the Xbox Series X. Even so, Xbox-owned services also make a sizeable share.
Interestingly, this report shows that existing services and content account for 80% of Xbox’s total revenue. Overall, this is a pretty good start for Microsoft. Of course, his Game Pass will be a mainstay weapon considering the growth rate of its users is so high.
In Ahmad’s tweet, many are curious whether this includes numbers from Microsoft’s acquisition of ZeniMax Media. Unfortunately, this does not include considering the acquisition has not been completed and does not appear in Microsoft’s financial statements.
Even so, players expect that there will be even higher growth in the second quarter, given that the ZeniMax acquisition will be included in future reports. Even so, Microsoft still has tremendous challenges.
