Why is Mobile Legends Banned?
Starting with some news that China is collecting player data from apps downloaded by its users. Through a press release from the government of India states that:
“The Ministry of Information Technology, invoking it’s power under section 69A of the Information Technology Act read with the relevant provisions of the Information Technology (Procedure and Safeguards for Blocking of Access of Information by Public) Rules 2009 and in view of the emergent nature of threats has decided to block 59 apps since in view of the information available they are engaged in activities which is prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defense of India, security of state and public order”.
From the press release above, it can be concluded that India wants to be careful about the 59 blocked applications, which “reported” can collect data, so that it can indirectly harm the sovereignty, integrity, of the Indian state as a whole. In addition, they also stated that the Ministry of technology and information also received many “representations” which ultimately increased public attention regarding data security and privacy from several applications provided by the country concerned. This too intended to protect the privacy of its citizens

It seems that the Anti-China movement is getting stronger with the Mobile Legends game which is finally blocked. This is because the game, which is in the top 100 games on the Google Play Store, is one of the most played games in many countries, including India. The number of local tournaments and the development of the existing community certainly made the community a little disappointed with the government’s decision. Unfortunately, the newly developed community can only wait for a decision from the government going forward.
