Pokemon Go Presents New Mega Evolution Lineup
The new Pokemon Mega-Evolved is now available in Pokemon Go. As a reward for completing two million Mega Raid Battles during the first week of the Mega September event, Mega Pidgeot has started appearing in the game as a Mega Raid boss.

With the arrival of Mega Pidgeot, you can now Mega Evolve your own Pidgeot once you have accumulated enough Pidgeot Mega Energy. You will get this energy for defeating Mega Pidgeot in Raids. You’ll need to collect 100 energy for your Mega Evolve Pidgeot the first time, but later transformations will require less energy. Niantic also says it is revamping Mega Evolutions to give players more ways to get Mega Evolutions outside of Mega Raids.
Mega September is a three-week event surrounding Mega Evolutions, which officially debuted in Pokemon Go last month. The first two weeks of the event are now over, but the third week will begin September 22. The theme of the week is increasing your friendship level with your Mega-Evolved Pokemon. There will also be a week-long special Timed Research quest, which players must complete for a chance to unlock Mega Gengar during next month’s Pokemon Go Halloween 2020 event.
Meanwhile, there’s still a lot going on in Pokemon Go this month. The game’s Community Day takes place this Sunday, September 20. This month’s featured Pokemon is Porygon, and if you can evolve it to its final form – Porygon-Z – up to two hours after the event ends, it will learn Tri Attacks which are currently not available in Pokemon Go.
Articuno is also returning to Raid Battles for a limited time. Legendary Pokemon will appear as five-star Raid bosses until September 25, after which they will be replaced by other Legendary birds.
