Suikoden Creators Announce New Game, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes
Would be like Suikoden.
Almost all PlayStation 1 games have good memories in the hearts of their players. Some of the titles even appeared until the latest generation of Sony’s console. Just say it Tekken, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Persona, and other games that are still going strong to this day.

However, of the many games, Gensou Suikoden is one of Konami’s masterpieces at that time. The JRPG game with the characteristics of having more than 100 characters and a siege battle complete with castle construction continues until its fifth iteration on the PlayStation 2. Unfortunately, Konami doesn’t seem to want to continue the game, even until the PlayStation 4 era will end. Making his loyal fans wait for the presence of the continuation of the story.
The good news, it looks like the creators of the game will answer you with a new title that they made themselves without Konami’s intervention.
Rabbit & Bear Studios, a studio founded by the creators of the series Suikoden announced that they are working on a 2.5D JRPG game with a new pixel-based character titled Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. The super ambitious game is scheduled to be released in the fall of 2022 for PC. To complete it, they went to their Kickstarter page with the goal of raising up to $500,000.
If the fundraiser is reached, they will also release it on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch.
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is a collaborative project between screenwriter Yoshitaka Murayama who is famous for his work on Suikoden I, Suikoden II, The Alliance Alive with Junko Kawano (Suikoden I, Suikoden IV, Arca Last) as a character designer, the system design is handled by Osamu Komuta (Suikoden Tierkreism Suikoden Tactics, Arca Last), Junichi Murakami as art direction and production (Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, OZ), and music composer Michiko Naruke (Wild Arms Series), and Motoi Sakuraba (Tales Series).
Murayama decided on a Kickstarter campaign so that Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes made according to the wishes of the player. Fans who donate funds will have the right to participate in the development of the game’s world and story.
Through his interview with Gematsu, Murayama explained that the game will have a similar feel to Suikoden. Players will be able to recruit 100 heroes who fight in battles for their own reasons. Murayama continued that another characteristic Suikoden the presence of intrigue between characters will also appear in the game.
Some heroes will be able to help players in battles, field battles, or specialists who are experts in research and strategy. Each character has its own strengths and weaknesses and will act not only as a side character.
The combination of each ability will cover each other’s shortcomings that each character has. In other words, you will be able to form a balanced party in terms of ability because each character will cover each other’s shortcomings. An image that is already familiar to those of you who have tasted the series Suikoden.
Together with Suikoden, this game will also have its own fortress/castle that will grow with the number of characters you recruit. Some of them are blacksmiths, cooks, and warriors that you will be able to bring during battle. Inside the fort there are also guilds that can change the appearance of the fort or give you certain abilities.
Interestingly, your fortress won’t be the same as Suikoden, because as you recruit more people, thieves and enemies will randomly attack your fort to disrupt your “building” process. You will be given the choice to strengthen your fort walls or speed up the construction process. Each choice will have its own consequences.
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes simply, it will have a visual appearance like Octopath Traveler with a story of war and intrigue between 100 characters in it. The game will be set in an area called Allraan which is rich in magical objects called “rune lenses”. The area inhabited by humans, beastmen, elves, and desert humans is a stage of war triggered by the Galdean Empire who wants to gain more power after finding technology that can strengthen rune-lenses by searching for them in several parts of the world.
You will play a village boy named Nowa (his name can be changed) who befriends one of the young royal officers named Seign Kesling. But the meeting will force them to examine some of the things they think are true when the two inevitably have to be dragged into a raging war. A story that reminds us of a basic story Suikoden II between Riou and Jowy.
Rabbit & Bear Studios also introduced some of its characters, starting with Nowa and Seign Kesling as the two main characters Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes and several other characters such as Marisa, Melridge, Garr, Lian, and Mio.
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes planned to be released for PC near the end of 2022. If their Kickstarter target is met, then the developer will release the game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch.
