10 "Big Brain" Strategies If You Are Chosen Impostor in Among Us
Among Us is a multiplayer game of 2018 that is just getting excited now. Because of the collection of content creators who play this game with their friends who are usually fellow content creators, this game has suddenly increased in popularity so that the developer has to cancel the sequel project for this game.

If you are new to this game now, chances are you are confused about the game mechanics. Even though the gameplay is simple, it turns out that there are a few things you should know about this game in order to win each round more easily.
On this occasion, we will give you some tips that you should know if you become an impostor. So, without further ado, let’s take a look.
1. Pretend to do a task, only move when the bar increases
The key to the victory of a crewmate apart from finding out who the impostor is is to do all the tasks given. If you are an impostor, you only get a “fake task”. You can’t interact with the tools on the map, but you can pretend to do your job so the crewmates don’t suspect you.
If you just wander around the map, people will likely suspect you, but if you pretend to be busy, you can create an alibi during the discussion. Maybe the best way when doing this trick is that you only move back when the status bar at the top left increases, then the crewmates around you who have sharp eyes can be deceived and think you have indeed done the task.
2. Frequently Use Sabotage and Close Doors Before Killing
As an impostor, you can sabotage some of the machines on the map and close the door access. Take advantage of this ability as much as you can. Use machine sabotage to keep crewmates away from the crime scene for a while and give you an alibi, or close the door access from certain rooms to make sure there are no witnesses to your murder and then escape through the ventilation, and many more situations where this ability will save you from the suspicions of crewmates. .
3. Agree with Majority Support
When a body is found or when someone opens an emergency meeting, it’s a good idea to follow and agree to a majority vote. Even if the supported friend is your fellow impostor, sometimes you can’t help but have to follow suit.
If you choose someone other than the one chosen by the other members, it is very likely that you will be suspected at the next discussion session, making you have to persuade why you can be trusted which is difficult to do when it happens.
4. Always Create Alibis
The best way to show your innocence is to have an alibi. If the body is found in the electrical room, lie by saying you are in the security room or something.
But be careful with your alibi, you have to make sure you create an alibi that can be trusted and not blocked by other members. Don’t let talk like “I was in the security room, you weren’t there” or arguments like that where you will be silent and be caught lying.
5. Take a chance to kill in the crowd
When multiple players are clustered in the same location, you can always try to kill one of them. This action is risky and there is a chance that you will get caught if there are bad players, but if you are lucky, you can get one player killed and one player ejected for wrong voting which means you get 2 kills in one round.
6. If caught killing in front of a witness, speak first
When you are caught by a witness who witnessed the act of killing you, when entering a discussion session, try to speak earlier than the witness. Shout “self report, he killed this guy in front of me” or something like that before the witness speaks.
This trick won’t always work, but from my experience playing, the majority of people always trust him to speak first, especially if your acting looks convincing.
It is very likely that you will be ejected next after it is discovered that the previous witness is not an impostor (except confirm eject turned off), but at least you’ve disposed of one extra crewmate before you die. The rest is just hoping your fellow impostor will continue (unless the mode is solo impostor).
7. Kill Crewmates Who Look Smart
Even in this kind of casual game, there will always be someone try hard throughout the round. Players like this you should kill first because usually they will be the source of your defeat. But make sure you kill him when he’s off guard like when he’s alone to the electrical or when he’s doing a long task like a task in the reactor room, etc.
8. Pretending to hang out with Crewmates during discussions
You want to make as many people as possible see you as just an ordinary crewmate. Therefore, try to always “lead” the discussion by asking where they have been and what tasks they have just done.
One of the things I often do is say “X is safe, I’ve been with him and he’s also done tasks” or something like that which essentially persuades other players that X is not an impostor. Usually this kind of talk makes X believe in you and make other players see you as a crewmate.
9. Watch the Camera, Reduce Kills in the Corridor
In every corner of the map there will always be a CCTV camera and usually the security room is a subscription for crewmates so they can find out who the impostor is. Always remember where the CCTV is and try to kill people in the room, not in the corridor.
If a corpse is found in the corridor, it is likely that the CCTV guards immediately called you who had just passed the corridor, making you look “sus” in their eyes.
10. If the Fix is Found and Create Fake Exposure
No matter how clever your strategy is as an impostor, there will always be moments where you are unlucky and caught red-handed and all your talk is unable to persuade the crewmates. If this happens, try to pretend to expose another impostor.
What I mean is talk like “Another Impostor the Blue” even though the Blue is not an impostor at all. If successful, one of the crewmates will hold an emergency meeting and eject straight blue. So at least you take one person dead after being ejected and make the other impostor’s burden less.
