Reporting from pocketgamer, in recent years, Chinese police and related departments have cracked down on gambling in Mahjong & card games. This May, police action has been seen in several cases across China.

For example, on May 13 at Kexing Technology Park, Shenzhen city, police destroyed a criminal organization developing Mahjong & card games for gambling, with 22 people arrested. And on May 11, police in Fujian province destroyed 17 payment platforms, with the money involved totaling more than one billion yuan.

Game Wechat

In recent days, Tencent has asked all Mahjong & card game operators to submit reports, including business reports and contracts to use the Wechat Payment service in a legal way, as in-game transactions of all games can be done through WeChat. After signing certain papers, Wechat has set a limit on the amount of daily or monthly expenses that individual players can make in this game.

Therefore, this step should be imitated by other countries’ governments and game companies, as well as payment service providers. Mainly because of its potential that can be exploited for various illegal acts, including gambling. The hope is that the perpetrators of gambling through games can be immediately caught and arrested so as not to have a negative impact.
