Creative Director Assassin's Creed: Valhalla Absent Due to Personal Issues

Ashraf Ismail said goodbye for a moment.

Bringing personal problems into the professional world such as work is not an ethical step for everyone. This is because it will only make their work focus neglected because their minds are divided between personal and work problems. Especially if they hold important positions in their jobs.

Therefore, it is not uncommon for some of them to take permission to take a break from their work to focus on solving personal problems that have the potential to interfere with the focus of their current work. This is what Ashraf Ismail, Creative Director is currently experiencing Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Assassin’s Creed: Origins, and the next Ubisoft game to be released, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla.

Ismail announced via his Twitter account that he would be leaving development for a while Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla to overcome his family’s problems which are now being hit by a storm. He also apologized to the fans who were hurt by his decision and admitted that the problem should not interfere with his team’s work in handling this big Ubisoft project.

Ashraf Ismail TweetUnfortunately, Ismail has now deleted his Twitter account as of this writing. Luckily wccftech managed to document the tweet.

Over the past few weeks, Ismail has been suspected of being involved in an extramarital affair with his wife. He is said to have lied about his marital status to a woman. His case is part of the #metoo campaign that is currently being discussed in the video game industry.

Especially after the case of Chris Avellone, Writer and Game Designer Fallout: New Vegas accused of sexually assaulting four women. Made his work contract revoked by several studios.

Launching Eurogamer, Ubisoft explained that Ismail temporarily resigned from the company Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. The French developer and publisher continued that they would still work on the game until it was finished without Ismail’s presence.

Similar cases also occurred in some Ubisoft staff. That not a few of their staff who claimed to have experienced sexual harassment. Ubisoft admits that they are very seriously looking into the matter and will investigate further to determine the next steps for its staff.
