On the community PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, Reshade became a popular program for tweaking visuals in games. This program is used to change the level of contrast, saturation, and other aspects of color in the game. The existence of this program basically does not harm other players. The creator of this game – Brendan ‘PlayerUnknown’ Greene himself previously allowed use this program and make sure it won’t make players exposed banned. However, with the number of cheaters that continues to get worse, and many players complain that this program can make visibility enemy easier, PUBG Corp. seems to be banning the use of the program soon.

Recently, PUBG Corp. has been experimenting with their new anti-cheat program for these 2 latest patches. The Community Coordinator of the PUBG forum on behalf of PUBG_RoboDanjal revealed that this new anti-cheat will be more effective in detecting fraudulent programs. However, not only cheating programs will be blocked, but also “3rd party programs that can change gameplay as well as visuals”. Reshade is one of the programs referred to in this context.

Nvidia recently released a new feature, namely Nvidia Freestyle for most all mid-end graphics cards and above where PUBG is one of the games that support this program. Nvidia Freestyle serves to add certain filters to the game’s visuals while playing, a concept that is not much different from the Reshade program. Will this feature also be blocked by the latest anti-cheat that PUBG Corp is working on? There is no explanation at this time.
