End CBT2, Genshin Impact Producer Confirms Game to Be Free-to-Play

Genshin Impact will be a free game.

I can’t believe it’s been almost a month of gaming Genshin Impact running its CBT2 period, and miHoYo looks like it’s ready to take on any suggestions players put in. Starting from the end of the CBT2 period today. One of those things is how the content they will present. Interestingly, the Producer himself confirmed the business model they would present in the game.

We are now officially on the platform Tiktok! Follow our Tiktok account at @gamebrott.com to find various information and our other interesting video content.

As we have tried ourselves, Genshin Impact have a gacha system that immediately assumes that the game will be a free-to-play game. The good news is that this assumption is true. This was revealed by the game’s producer, Hugh Tsai on his official website.

Tsai explained that Genshin Impact not an MMORPG game. The game is single-player with co-op features, which will elevate the free-to-play business model. Genshin Impact will present gacha which is a source of income. But they promised that the system would be “fair and friendly” to players. Tsai admitted that the monetization details will be announced later.

Tsai also noticed that many of the players complained about the lack of content after they had played for 50 hours. However, he explained that the content is currently being worked on. Tsai said that they are currently working on “new adventures” and “new ways to play the game”, including dungeons, daily quests, multiplayer, and a new feature they call the homeland system which they will explain in the future.

Genshin Impact is a miHoYo project since three years ago with a fairly small team. Now, they have 500 developers to work on the game. The game itself is a special one for the team and Tsai personally.

Unfortunately, as of this writing, neither Tsai nor miHoYo have explained when the game will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, Android, iOS, or Nintendo Switch. Until this moment they only provide information that the game will be released towards the end of 2020. But that could change, given the many unexpected things that arise in the development of video games.
