Reporting from screenrant, this King Of Fighters Allstar mobile game gets a new collaboration with WWE. Released in UK territory last year, Allstar features fighters from across SNK’s long-running King Of Fighters series. Indeed, King Of Fighters Allstar has featured a number of crossovers, with guest appearances from Tekken and Samurai Shodown alongside characters from Hideaki Sorachi’s manga Gintama.
Now, it looks like the King Of Fighters Allstar fighters will be taking on the WWE superstars, as announced on Twitter. This post features a new logo for the planned collaboration, titled King Of Fighters Allstar X WWE. While no specific superstar has yet been named to appear, one of the hashtags included in the announcement contains one of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s signature words “Do you Smell?”.
WWE is currently re-evaluating its video game strategy in the wake of the disaster that was WWE 2K20, canceling a sequel planned for this year and announcing a very different WWE 2K Battlegrounds to be released as its replacement.
Furthermore, this planned collaboration with King Of Fighters Allstar will be the company’s second Game crossover, as John Cena, The Rock, Xavier Woods, and Becky Lynch have appeared as guest characters in Smash Bros.
Therefore, this is a pretty good collaboration move, considering that some WWE fans were quite disappointed with the game failing. Seeing the experience of King Of Fighters Allstar in collaborating, most likely the results are quite good. The hope is that many WWE superstars are featured and King Of Fighters Allstar makes another collaboration.
