Google Play Store Adds New Feature : Teacher Approved

Google Play Store, the current condition is where there are more activities at home, whether it’s WFH (Work From Home) or students who are on vacation. For students, of course, now they hold their smartphones more than their books (hayoo admit) and of course the role of parents is important here to supervise their children surfing in cyberspace.

We are now officially on the platform Tiktok! Follow our Tiktok account at @gamebrott.com to find various information and our other interesting video content.

Well, when we open the Google Playstore, sometimes we as parents are still confused whether the application accessed by the child is good or not and before Google has added a feature, namely “Parent Control” where parents can monitor their children when accessing the Play Store, to complete its supervision feature this time Google added another new feature where the role of the teacher is also needed in supervising children from accessing applications. which is less useful.

Finding Quality Apps For Kids

Many parents are still confused about the quality of the applications on the Play Store whether the applications downloaded by children are good for their age or not, because not all parents today are “technology literate” so parents also need a companion and this is where the “Teacher Approved” feature works.

Actually there is an addition Kids tab to make it easier to find suitable applications for children. There is also a lot of content in the play store, some are intended only for entertainment, some are aimed at education, some are curiosity-provoking and many other kinds of applications are there.

Google itself works closely with Teachers across the country including its main advisor Joe Blatt (Harvard Graduate School of Education) and Dr. Sandra Calvert (Georgetown University). So later the applications will be assessed first by the teachers whether they are suitable for children or not, if appropriate, the application will have a “Teacher Approved” badge

Applications are rated based on age restrictions, user experience quality, reviews and how much fun they are. Google will also provide additional information for applications that already have the badge, namely why Google added the badge in certain applications so that parents can better understand whether the application is right for their children.

The way to find apps that already have the badge is to just select the Kids tab, then there will be apps that already have the badge. For the application library, it may not be too much but Google will slowly add applications that are suitable and safe for children. I hope this info is useful for all.
