Got a PS5 in 2021? Do you really need it?

The day finally arrived, the PlayStation 5 was finally released on the market. Unfortunately America, Europe, and Japan (especially East Asia) are the main targets for marketing the latest Sony console. So it’s only natural that they stock up a lot and release it first in the superpower countries that I mentioned earlier. Meanwhile, countries that become the third market, such as Indonesia and its surroundings, will get a share in the following months.

We are now officially on the platform Tiktok! Follow our Tiktok account at @gamebrott.com to find various information and our other interesting video content.

Indonesia itself just got the official PS5 quota from Sony at the end of January 2021, to be exact on January 22, 2021 at a price that has already been fixed, which is 7-8 million rupiah. In addition to the price mentioned, it means that it has been marked up by the seller, which is actually prohibited by Sony itself.

The popularity of the PS5 is undeniable, apart from the fact that the latest console from Japan has a custom SSD technology that Sony made itself with some technical specifications that you probably won’t understand. Lots of exclusive games like God of War, Ratchet and Clank, until Gran Turismo become the main attraction for his fans.

Because of its popularity, some of Indonesia’s upper classes, whose money is not enough, already have a PS5 by importing it from abroad. It’s not wrong, it’s allowed, as long as you have paid the applicable import duty tax, of course. They give a very good impression of the console’s performance. That the “no loading” feature has really become a reality with the convenience of DualSense, the name for a controller that is much better than the PS4’s DualShock 4.

The temptation from these “sultans” has certainly made many people jealous and at the same time curious about how sophisticated and powerful the PS5 is? Do you really need to buy this year? My short opinion below might be able to make you consider and think about it before getting carried away wanting to be cool like the others.

Having a PlayStation 5 or what we call it PS5, maybe for some people is a dream that will be achieved if you can enjoy it first. But if you look at the specific needs, I don’t think you really need it. Even then, if you already know some facts that might surprise you, I’m not exaggerating.

Before you get emotional, I will tell you some facts that I know so far. PS5 in Indonesia is pre-ordered using the gacha system, and this gacha is not to get the console directly, but to get the opportunity to pre-order. Crazy? No, this is natural because the stock at the factory itself is starting to run thin and it’s impossible to supply as many PS4s that are still being produced today. I mean this Indonesian stock is limited for its first launch.

In fact, due to the high demand, Sony has stopped producing PS4 in Japan to focus on producing PS5. It’s selling well at Tanjung kimpoi, eh kimpul, really. Not to mention the problem of the pandemic which until now has not been finished. I swear this virus is so annoying.

Apart from the limited stock, which means you’ll be trying to get a PS5 in Indonesia this year. The game is also new. This year, most of them release multi-platform games, although they are limited to PS5 and PC only or PS4, PS5 and PC.

“But he said Horizon Forbidden West release this year?”, yes, if it’s released this year, but I’m trying to think realistically with the current situation, I think there’s a possibility that it will be released next year or postponed until an undetermined time. As in previous years, you will have to wait another year or two for this PS5 game to appear quite a lot and then consider whether or not to buy the console.

Not only that, there are several possibilities for hardware damage or factory defects that can occur. Yes, yes, yes, I know that not all initial productions must be factory defects, but it is possible that there are many other problems besides factory defects. We don’t know what the problem will be. Yes, the period of buying 7-8 million is used a month with damaged maintenance?

The factory defects are not limited, after unboxing, they try to die like that, but after playing for a week, two weeks, even three months, they are damaged. Unless you play extreme 12 hours non-stop, burn it in the middle of the embers or slam it and it just gets damaged because of your own stupidity.

Hey, but this is not an open secret where PS5 hoarders who want to make a lot of money or profit by increasing prices and buying all the stock are like the mask phenomenon at the beginning of the pandemic, you know. It’s already like that abroad, how about local? I know the nature of the seller, both local and long distance, for sure. The important thing is money. *pray money*

From the facts above, indeed everything may not go to “really need”, but more to “don’t buy it now”. It’s not like I’m not forbidding you to buy it. But if we look at it from the other side, for those of you who really need it and don’t or don’t have a PS4, having a PS5 this year can be your ninja way.

From the developer side, the PS5 has easier tools for them to port their games to the console. Meanwhile, from consumers, the PS5 has a super fast SSD with almost no loading features, 4K support, 60fps which is smooth like playing a high-end PC, to several other gaming needs that cannot be achieved with 8 million PC assemblies in 2021.

Not to mention that you can play all new games with ultra-high settings (which are adapted for consoles, of course) that fulfill the desire to enjoy today’s visual displays without the hassle of thinking about what components to buy. Because everything is one package. Think of it as an investment in technology for the future.

In the end, it all comes down to your choice, but with some of the facts above, maybe you can consider whether to take it first or not. My rant does not include those of you who are already married, if it is permission from your wife or husband, you can or not, depending on the policy of each financial arrangement. I don’t want to interfere in your family matters.

In my personal opinion, buying a console or in this case the newly released PS5 is something I won’t do as quickly as those with a lot of money or media (I don’t know if Gamebrott bought it or not). Apart from my financial condition, it’s impossible to buy the console now and the stock is limited, I prefer to wait until the game builds up a lot and from production there is already a new unit or maybe a “pro” variant.

Because for me personally, buying PS5 is if the game doesn’t release on PC and or I really need to play the game first, either because I’m a fan of the franchise and have liked it from the start, it’s not really important. It’s easy, “What’s the point of owning a PS5 if you don’t have a lot of games”. Yes, I haven’t tried it yet so I can’t give any opinion on whether to buy it or not, apart from watching other people’s impressions and reading. Because actually only those who have tried it can give that opinion.

But for those of you who want to buy it this year, even though you’ve read the facts I gave you, I don’t forbid it at all. Because of your money, you are the one who manages it, not me, who am I? Neither your father, nor your husband. Sorry no homo, I like girls.

So, how is it? Interested in playing the PS5 this year? Should I wait for next year or not at all?
