Hello Games is in the middle of developing a game as ambitious as No Man's Sky

No Man’s Sky experienced a launch that was so bad, so bad that even the developer was flooded with death threats due to disappointment from gamers. But slowly Hello Games kept updating the game under the radar of the press and media and now 4 years after its release, the reputation of Sean Murray, his team and also No Man’s Sky has returned to positive. The game is still far from perfect, but the dedication of the development team in trying to fix their mistakes deserves thumbs up.

Hello Games recently released The Last Campfire, a game on a much smaller scale than their previous project. But the thrill of gaming on an ambitious scale is something Sean Murray wants to relive. The British studio founder told Polygon that his team is now back planning a game “as big and ambitious as No Man’s Sky.” He couldn’t say anything for now, but what was certain was that he didn’t want to repeat the same mistake again.

“It was a very, very difficult process and I don’t want to put that burden on anyone anymore,” said Murray, who regretted seeing his employees affected by the bad press of the previous No Man’s Sky release.

No Man's Sky Beyond Update
The Last Campfire has the opposite direction from No Man’s Sky. The game was not marketed so excitedly and was released “suddenly” on the Epic Games Store a few days ago. Maybe the game is just an experiment, or maybe Hello Games doesn’t dare yet move on with an old tragedy.

4 years after No Man’s Sky, Murray still feels sorry for the PR marketing he did. But at least he learned a lot to promote the next game. We’ll see if the ambitious game from Hello Games this time will run according to their vision.
