Of course, fans will be anticipating the arrival of the PS5, here’s the reason why Sony allegedly strong will soon announce the PS5 this year.
5. The End of Life PlayStation 4
Regeneration is a cycle that “must” be experienced to keep up with market developments & times, not least for the world of consoles. PlayStation 4 itself is now almost 7 years old since its inaugural release in 2013, this means, now the current gen console belongs to Sony it is at the end of its age
The life cycle of a console era is only around 6-7 years, before finally being replaced by a next-gen console that is ready to present far more qualified specifications. Surely this year will be a very appropriate moment for Sony to announce the PS5 as the successor to the PS4.
4. The Evidence Is Getting Stronger
Sony officials have confirmed that they are currently developing a next-gen console with fierce specifications. In May 2018, John Kodera himself became the new CEO Sony Interactive Entertainment said that they will soon release the PS5 within the next 3 years.
At that time Kodera also said that the PS4 was at the end of its age, some other evidence was that Sony had patented a more modern controller. The controller with touch screen technology is allegedly the Dualshock 5 which will be the official PS5 controller.
3. Console Rival Has Confirmed the Latest Generation
Sony & Microsoft indeed known as eternal rivals, each always going head to head in issuing their exclusive console or game. Windows Central Senior Editor, Jez Corden said that the latest generation of Xbox currently has the codename “Anaconda” & “Lockhart”.
The two names are prototype consoles that are currently being developed by Microsoft, which will also be the same console but with different specifications. Like regular PS4 & PS4 Pro or regular Xbox One with Xbox One X, Lockhart & Anaconda is currently still only a prototype and will certainly have another name when it’s official release.
The Xbox One successor console is allegedly going to be announced at E3 2019 and launched between 2020-2021. Of course that, also strengthens the possibility Sony will soon announce the successor to the PS4 to face its rival.
2. Many Games Have Been Pointed To Next Gen Console
The limited specifications of the PS4 & Xbox One, which are at the end of their age, have finally made various developers try to make the game release on 2 platforms, current gen and also next gen. If the PS5 has appeared on the market, of course the PS4 will not just die, there is always a transition period where a game will be released in two different generations.
In our previous generation we can see Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag which releases on PS3 & PS4, for the next generation it seems will also do the same thing. Cyberpunk 2077, Final Fantasy VII Remake & several other giant games are predicted to be released not only on current gen consoles, but also on next gen consoles like PS5 & Xbox Anaconda.
1. Sony Skip E3 2019
For the first time in the history of the gaming industry, Sony decided not to show off at the world’s largest video game trade show event – E3. Even though you can say Sony is a company that always “steal the show” in every E3 that was held before. Of course, it was a very unusual thing when they decided to skip the annual event that was most anticipated by gamers around the world.
However, this actually leads to the assumption that Sony actually preparing a big surprise that they will “put” in another event. Perhaps the big surprise is the official announcement of the existence of the PlayStation 5, Sony I myself have used this strategy for games Ghost of Tsushima, where the game was not announced through E3, but through a PGW event.
Those are the various reasons why Sony will soon announce its latest generation console, we all want the best through PS5. Starting from fierce specifications, to prices that are still friendly, let’s just wait for official confirmation from Sony regarding the existence of this latest generation console.
