IsThereAnyDeal Web Hacked Hacker, Developer: Steam Account Safe

Sometimes the discounts given include not only indie games, but also AAA. This is then summarized in several websites with discount data and if visitors are lucky, they will find free game information. One of them? IsThereAnyDeal.

IsThereAnyDeal is a website that summarizes and tracks all PC game prices from various sources, including Steam and other stores. Players can login using their Steam account to get information or often share new information.

But recently the website was breached by hackers who endangered users and allowed the rogue hacker to login using the Steam account of each player who uses the website. The good news? The user’s Steam account remains secure. At least that’s what website developer IsThereAnyDeal says.

Through his post, the IsThereAnyDeal development team admitted that the breach occurred because of an old code bug that resided on its website. They’ve fixed it and haven’t found the hacked Steam account yet.

In more detail, the developer IsThereAnyDeal believes that only the admin account is the victim. They explained that they would strengthen the security system for websites and accounts that have been logged in, including considering two-factor authentication.
