Konami Registers the Zone of the Enders Trademark; Present a New Series?
Will they resurrect one of the games made by Kojima?
Doing a work that is artistic and sometimes considered absurd by some is the hallmark of Hideo Kojima’s video games. Begins from Metal Gear who succeeded in enriching Konami, Kojima was trusted to work on various video games. One of which is Zone of the Enders as Producer.

Robot game with a focus on realistic elements tells the story of a young colonist named Leo Stenbuck who survived the attack of BAHRAM military forces around the planet Jupiter. Like a hero in video games in general, Leo controls an Orbital Frame (as a giant robot in this game) named Jehuty to protect civilians from threats in the midst of a raging war.
Interestingly, after the trilogy, HD Collection version, and remaster 2nd Mars Runners released, Konami seems reluctant to continue the series. The good news, it looks like they will revitalize their IP again without Kojima’s help.
Konami seems to have registered a new trademark for the franchise Zone of the Enders in Europe and Japan which were made public on September 3 and September 8, 2020. Each region received two identical and different trademarks.
Europe itself has two trademarks with the same name, namely Zone of the Enders but with a different registration number. Registration is done on September 3, 2020.
While in Japan, Konami registered the title ZOE which stands for the title of the game and Zone of the Enders. The respective titles have been registered since August 24, but have just been released to the public on September 8, 2020.
The registration indicates that they are working on a series Zone of the Enders. However, it is unclear whether the game will be released as a new iteration, remastered, or rebooted.
With the Tokyo Game Show 2020 approaching which will be held at the end of September, where Konami itself will have a corner for the “Konami Info Show” event on September 26, 2020 at 18:00-18:50 WIB via YouTube. It’s only natural that they want to prepare a new title to be announced. One of the biggest possibilities is Zone of the Enders. Let’s just wait!
