Minecraft Dev, Mojang is now officially Mojang Studios

Yes, they changed the name.

Since Microsoft announced its acquisition of various developers, they were immediately tasked with working on Xbox and Windows 10 PC projects exclusively. Although it does not rule out the game will also be released on Steam. However, there are interesting things that tickle one of the developers, Mojang.

We are now officially on the platform Tiktok! Follow our Tiktok account at @gamebrott.com to find various information and our other interesting video content.

Instead of announcing their other new project ahead of the summer, they changed their name instead.

Mojang announced that they have changed their name to Mojang Studios with their new logo. Yes, developers Minecraft whose series has now turned 11 years old, inserts “Studios” behind its name. A moment that makes you “clap your forehead” with the name change.

The head of Mojang Studios, Thomas Wiborgh simply explained “Why not?” in the name change announcement. He then continued with the parable of wanting to change the “clothes” that became their hallmark in 2009. It is a sign that with the name change, Mojang Studios will have a new vision.

Wiborgh explained that they would be merging many studios from around the world with Mojang which also inspired him to change his name to a new name. Some of these new studios are currently looking for ideas for new games that they will be working on.

As for the new logo, Wiborgh explained that the game is the philosophy or backbone of Mojang Studios. This is translated through the logo which now has a cut with a box shape in some of the letters.
