1 month after its release, Capcom announced that sales of Monster Hunter Rise have passed 6 million copies both physically and digitally. With this very brilliant commercial performance, Monster Hunter Rise is one of the most successful series to date, although it may not have beaten Monster Hunter World because of its multi-platform release.

For comparison, Monster Hunter World was released on January 26 on two consoles namely PS4 and Xbox One. The 2018 game managed to reach 6 million copies on February 9 or 10 days from its release.

Seeing Monster Hunter Rise being released on a single console at this time and also having greater limitations than PS4 and Xbox One, the number achieved now has become a tradition in itself.

Capcom also announced the release of update 2.0 today which will add Tesotra, Kushala Daora, Apex Diabolos, and Apex Rathalos for players to hunt. The game is also confirmed to be released for PC but they have to wait until early 2022.
