Nomura: No DLC After FFVII Remake Intergrade Release; Focus on Part 2

They won’t be releasing any other DLC besides Yuffie for now.

Yuffie Episode DLC Announcement for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Of course, it adds to the skepticism of fans about the continuation of the franchise series that has been milked since the PS1-PS2 era. That Square-Enix again wants to dig deeper into its players’ pockets via DLC like in the past.

We are now officially on the platform Tiktok! Follow our Tiktok account at @gamebrott.com to find various information and our other interesting video content.

But it looks like the Yuffie DLC is the only thing they’re working on and won’t be adding similar DLC in the future. At least for now.

Through Famitsu Japan’s interview with Nomura which Square-Enix Asia has translated to us, Nomura said that they have no plans to develop another DLC. This is because at first they only intended to make a PS5 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake which was finally announced as Intergrade.

With the development of the PS5 version being easier and smoother than usual, Square-Enix plans to focus on developing part 2 and their next game. In other words, they will likely release the DLC once everything is done.

Nomura also explained a little about Sonon’s new character design, which was designed in military costumes with an oriental appearance. Sonon was made by Nomura as a character with a quarterstaff weapon to balance his battle with Yuffie, therefore he has a costume that makes it easy for him to make movements with difficult maneuvers.

Initially he was made with Nomura’s signature design, namely “beautiful boy”, but because his partner is Yuffie who will change the dynamics of his battle, Nomura decides to change it to a more masculine one.

Players will control Yuffie throughout the DLC, but the system will create an awareness of Sonon’s actions. Later, players will be able to see the combination between the two. Sonon can also be released or follow Yuffie’s control by pressing L2.

Yuffie’s episode will also provide special summons and materia that can only be enjoyed via this episode.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade planned to be released on PS5 on June 10, 2021. The game will feature the DLC Episode Yuffie which is currently only designed for PS5 only. It’s not clear yet whether the PS4 will also get it.
