Nvidia Presents RTX 3070, Outperforms RTX 2080 Ti at Only Half the Price

As expected from various previous teasers, Nvidia has finally officially opened the veil for their latest generation of GPUs, namely the RTX 3000 series. In its online launch last night and guided directly by the CEO – Jensen Huang, Nvidia finally introduced 3 series line-ups that will be owned by this RTX 3000.

In this latest generation, Nvidia brings a new architecture called Ampere which promises to improve performance, especially in real-time ray tracing processing, which is much better than before. The Ampere GA104 GPU which will be owned by the RTX 3000 will also use 8nm fabrication from Samsung.

And of the 3 announced series, the most interesting is the RTX 3070 which is the lowest series in the RTX 3000 line-up. Even so, the RTX 3070 offers performance that Nvidia claims has managed to beat the performance of their previous flagship – the RTX 2080 Ti but at a price that is only half of the previous $1200. While the RTX 3070 will be announced with a tag of only $499 or 7 million Rupiah.

Another series announced is the RTX 3080 which will be their new flagship card with a performance that is claimed to reach 2 times that of the previous RTX 2080 series. This series is targeted to be the high-end GPU of choice for gamers. Because the RTX 3080 itself will be priced starting at $699 or around 10 million Rupiah.

RTX 3090

And the last is a completely new graphics card, which is positioned as a GPU monster with the title “BFGPU” by the CEO, namely the RTX 3090. This graphics card is Nvidia’s answer to breaking the limits of the ability to play games at 8K resolution. Or if not, this GPU is also capable of supporting video games played via native 4K resolution with all real-time ray tracing effects turned on, along with all the effects of the video game.

Physically, the RTX 3090 also looks very massive and big where it will take up all 3 PCI slots and 12 pin power connectors from the PSU. All the slots and the power itself is used to supply power and provide better space to cool the components inside.
