He is still struggling in the world of video games.

Stopping from a publisher as well as a big developer, does not make many well-known people in their fields lose their hopes to continue doing what they love. Sometimes they actually try to “get revenge” by creating a new studio to compete with. The same is done by the former Director Final Fantasy XV, Hajime Tabata.

As if following in the footsteps of the main creator Final Fantasy, Hironobu Sakaguchi, Hajime Tabata announced that he now has a new office called JP GAMES, Inc. after leaving Square-Enix. The new studio will officially launch in January 2019.

For those of you who don’t know, in early November, Square-Enix announced the departure of Hajime Tabata from the company. Caused the cancellation of 3 of the latest four DLC projects Final Fantasy XV. Tabata has announced that he will be establishing a new company, while Luminous Productions, which he leads, will continue to work on Ardyn Episodes and other new games.

Hajime Tabata is the co-director Final Fantasy XV who was later appointed as the main director of the game in December 2013 thanks to Tetsuya Nomura having to work on another project.

It’s not clear what game JP GAMES will make, but if you look at the actions of Hajime Tabata, who managed to direct Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy XV, and The 3rd Birthday (Parasite Eve) on PSP. Then it will be quite interesting for us to see what works he will bring later, although it all also depends on the talent he employs later.
