Playing games for too long during lockdown, this man died of blood clots

Playing games is certainly one of the easiest escapes as well as the most powerful weapon to spend time during this Corona virus pandemic. But it seems that we need to be more careful and at the same time more introspective in managing the time we spend playing games.

We are now officially on the platform Tiktok! Follow our Tiktok account at @gamebrott.com to find various information and our other interesting video content.

Because something unexpected happened to a British man who died at the young age of 24 because he played video games for too long at home. The cause itself is suspected to be due to a blood clot that occurred in his leg.

The man named Louis O’Neill himself is reported to have been on leave since a week after the lockdown was imposed from his workplace at Center Parcs. And of course video games become an escape for Louis while at home. Which makes him feel at home spending hours playing without moving from in front of the computer.

His father, Stanley Greening also explained that his son spent hours in front of the computer with very little rest. He even had time to find the child was still not asleep when he was about to make breakfast in the morning. The father had actually expected the bad consequences of his son’s habit and asked the son to go out with his sister to buy something at the store or just take a walk. But unfortunately over time Louis became annoyed, and asked not to be disturbed.

The effects of this bad habit finally began to show in late May, when Louis felt unwell. His family also called paramedics but he was only suspected of having food poisoning. However, from that point on, Louis’ condition got worse, because he complained that his legs hurt. Until finally on June 3, the mother found Louis lying on the stairs. His father and mother immediately helped him to get to bed.

Louis is also told to have asked his father “Dad, what happened to me?while sitting on the floor next to his bed. Paramedics were called back to immediately send an ambulance. Which but unfortunately too late because when the ambulance arrived, Louis had already passed away.

My dear friends and acquaintances.I know most of you already know.On 3rd June something so awful happened, the worst…

The father also regrets what happened to his son and how he should have been able to prevent what happened to his son by sharing the story on his social media account. Stanley also explained that cases of blood clots which are usually identical with elderly people and also sitting on planes for too long also have a risk of attacking people who now spend a lot of time sitting in front of a computer screen, especially those who work from home or WFH.

He also reminded all of us to often stand up, walk, and reminded everyone, especially for the children who became less mobile while at home. Yes, at this time where we are advised to stay at home, of course, our movement becomes a lot less. And it’s a good idea to move around as much as possible, at least away from the computer after a few hours. Do something else first before continuing to play on the computer again.
