Spotify is testing a new subscription feature called Premium Duo which offers a Premium subscription for two for €12.49 per month. According to the info we got from The Verge on this Spotify feature, it also comes with a new playlist called Duo Mix, which is automatically generated based on the habits of the songs or playlists that you both play frequently.

Spotify Premium subscriptions usually cost €9.99 or Rp.159,604 per subscriber. A Premium Duo subscription is therefore a decent feature for couples and roommates alike as it costs less. Like a family subscription, Premium Duo subscribers have to live at the same address, but what’s different now is that Spotify will ask you to provide an address as part of this Premium Duo signup process.
Once you both sign up, you’ll get access to Duo Mix, a playlist that will be created automatically similar to the existing Discover Weekly or Daily Mix playlist. You get one playlist between the two of you, and it’s automatically created and shared when you set up your account. When you both listen to music, update packs with music you both think you enjoy. There are also “Chill” and “Upbeat” options for playlists in the mobile app to switch between songs of various tempos.
Spotify is currently testing Premium Duo in five countries namely Colombia, Chile, Denmark, Ireland, and Poland and did not confirm when or if they plan to roll it out more widely in the future.
