PUBG PC Contributes 85% of PUBG Corp's Total Revenue in 2018

PUBG Corp, is a company that was clearly created to manage the affairs of Tencent-themed Games Battle Royale which has been very much discussed lately, who else if not PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds or commonly called PUBG or Pabji, PUBG Corp. was found to have announced large revenues in 2018 throughout Asia and especially in terms of PUBG PC.

Fortnite may still be the leader in this regard, however, it turns out that PUBG is still no less competitive and has proven to be quite good in terms of income (proven in our country that it is almost forbidden due to the popularity of this game in Indonesia). South Korea PUBG Corp. achieved a fantastic figure in terms of revenue of $920 million in total revenue in 2018 across global PUBG sales and all in-game Microtransaction activities. Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmad reports that things like this are not surprising, Asia is the dominant force in the market with contributions by 53% of total revenue (overall), or $487.6 million (can you imagine? there are so many sultans in Asia, hehe).

Most of PUBG’s income comes from PUBG PC game products, this of course makes sense considering the popularity of game cafes in South Korea and Asia (Net Game or Warnet), as well as the huge number of fans of Battle Royale gamers around the world. PCs make 85% of total income, or $790 million, in contrast to the continued revenue (Micro transactions etc.) of console games which are lagging far behind, where consoles only get $60 million or very at least just 6.2% of total revenue from PC games. Mobile phones are also still far behind just by revenue $65 million, but this is only the total residual income and license fees, not raw revenue.

Tencent obtained many exclusive license rights to develop and publish PUBG on the Mobile platform. PUBG Corp’s profit margin is at a healthy 34% surplus with a total profit of $310 million for the year. Of course, this still opens the possibility to get more income when the Free version of PUBG, namely the latest lite version, starts to be released and is busy in the market. Regarding PUBG PC, SuperData said that PUBG products were 2018’s highest-earning premium games across all platforms with over $1 billion generated throughout the year.
