In its claim, Qualcomm claims that the latest generation of charging technology is able to charge the battery from 0-50% in just 15 minutes. The company also claims that this fast charging technology is 35% faster and 9% cooler than the previous generation.

In addition, Quick Charge 3+ also has the ability to detect the cable used, to increase the security features of the phone.

Qualcomm also added that the Quick Charge 3+ fast charging technology will be able to be used on devices that support the previous generation of charging technology.

Qualcomm Quick Charge 3+ also supports new Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) such as SMB1395/SMB1396 which means:

  • Support for architectural flexibility allows OEMs to increase charging power using the same software and recognize different system requirements in terms of PCB (Printed Circuit Board) design, Integrated Circuit (IC) charging locations and more.
  • Supports ultra-fast charging at a lower cost, various voltage charging accessories such as Quick Charge 3+
  • Does not require external components such as OVP (Over Voltage Protection) chip, sense resistor, and others
  • Supports two inputs, wireless and wired (SMB1396)

Through a press release received by Gamebrott, the chipsets that will support this technology, one of which is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 and 765G which were just released by Qualcomm as affordable 5G chipsets from Qualcomm for the middle class.
