Qualcomm Showcases 8K Video Recordings Using Snapdragon 865

Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 865 chipset is of course promised to deliver high-end performance this year, to be released starting with the Samsung Galaxy S20 announced next week. Before releasing the SD 865 again on other devices, Qualcomm posted samples of 8K videos recorded using hardware powered by the new chipset.

We are now officially on the platform Tiktok! Follow our Tiktok account at @gamebrott.com to find various information and our other interesting video content.

The Spectra 480 ISP is found inside the Snapdragon 865 and can process 2 gigapixels per second. Theoretically it is also capable of capturing 200 MP images and simultaneously capturing 4R HDR video and 64MP images.

Smartphones with Snapdragon 865 are capable of capturing professional quality images and will pack exciting new camera features, including 8K video capture.

The hardware used is the latest Qualcomm chipset paired with a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor on a “prototype smartphone”. Of course, to judge based on the video above, in our opinion it is still too early, because everything is done with a prototype device, it’s just that we of course already have an idea that the 8K video produced by a smartphone is already in front of our eyes.

It is rumored that the Galaxy S20 Ultra will be able to record videos in 8K resolution with a 108MP camera sensor.
