Report Bug Fallout 76, Reporter Is Banned Permanently By Bethesda

Games with bug features have indeed become a prestige that is often given by fans to Bethesda. Because not a few of us often encounter bugs in Bethesda’s old game titles. However, even though it already has a title like this, it seems that fans are starting to get angry with the presence of the Fallout 76 game which is felt to have a lot of “problems”. Plus, not a few of them are actually given “Hammer Bans” when reporting bugs that occur in their games.

A Whistleblower Is Banned

This case stems from a bug that is popping up in the community, where the bug can allow players to exploit a store to accept payment for bottle caps instead of scrips which are very hard to get. So that many players are seen carrying legendary weapons that normally must be obtained with the gacha system.

Seeing this, a data miner as well as the brain behind the birth of the interactive map application 76, began conducting experiments to test the truth of this bug. These data miners are indeed quite famous, often active in the Fallout 76 community and often become one of the parties that help Bethesda fix problematic bugs from the Fallout 76 game.

After conducting several experiments and finding evidence of the success of this bug, the data miner plans to report it directly to the Bethesda Community Manager. However, knowing that one of the people in his community had reported it, he then gave up his intention. Until the next day he found that his Falloout 76 account had been permanently banned.

Overwhelmed by frustration and many unresolved problems, the owner of the Map76.com website finally closed his website and decided to withdraw from the Fallout76 community.

Bethesda’s Defense and Internal Chaos

Responding to the circulating issues, Bethesda seems to be trying to calm the community’s anger by giving a statement through their Community Manager. Where the Bethesda explained that Bethesda will not punish the perpetrators who exploit this bug, if after reporting the complainant no longer exploits the bug. However, this seems quite different from what happened at the TKP, because MAP76 does contribute quite often to the Fallout76 forum and even within the data team. Miners Map76 also has a Community Manager from Bethesda itself. So it’s a little unreasonable for people who are familiar with the Fallout 76 forum protocol and have one of Bethesda’s internals violate this. Following a statement from the Bethesda Community Manager, players are also encouraged to report any bugs they find to their Customer Service.

Another problem that arises is regarding Fallout 76’s subscription system is Fallout 1st Membership which is not what was promised. From the explanation of the data miners, he had an argument with Bethesda’s Customer Service. Where Bethesda was reluctant to give Re-Fund for their Fallout 1st membership subscription system, even though the problems in the subscription system are systematic and experienced by all customers.

Even so the representatives from Bethesda finally give a refund exception for membership belonging to the data miners. Closing this, the data miner also explained that the updates presented by Bethesda often did not solve the problem, instead adding new bugs.
