Reporting from Sixthone, Tencent was deceived by people claiming to be from the chili company. The people who deceived Tencent consisted of three people namely Cao, Liu, and Zheng, who disguised themselves as marketing managers of Lao Gan Ma. Lao Gan Ma itself is a famous chili company in China.
The scammers have been caught and it was discovered that the destination was a gift package code owned by Tencent. They had faked the company’s stamp and signed a promotional project with Tencent. Tencent has advertised the company through its game, Gkart. Tencent had sued the company for not paying the advertising fees, but it was revealed that they were deceived by a fake company.
